Pleasant Hill Leaf, Oregon

from DKK 995.00

Pleasant Hill was the first white settlement in Lane County when Elijah Bristow settled in 1846. I lived there while teaching photography at the University of Oregon Craft Center and was fortunate to meet author and counter-cultural figure Ken Kesey, who died in 2001. As the author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Ken considered himself a link between the Beat Generation of the “50s and the Hippies of the ‘60’s. I remember seeing Ken’s infamous school bus “Furthur” parked at his home just down the road from mine.

I made this image with my Cambo 4×5 on Extachrome 100 transparency film in the forest just behind Ken’s house.

Print sizes: A2 (16"x20"), A3 (11"x17"), A4 (8"x10") With White boarder
